Disaster preparedness is necessary in today's climate of fear. NBC hoods (nuclear, biological, chemical escape hoods), fire protection hood, and fire supplies are necessary to evacuate contaminated or at risk areas in the event of terrorist attack or other mishap.Traditional gas masks have several limitations including required fit testing and training for proper use. As a result several Safety Manufacturer have developed hood-style respirators designed for the general public. Because these Escape Hoods utilize a flexible rubber neck seal, they can be effectively utilized without prior fit-test and fit most head sizes. In addition, they are designed to be lightweight and portable.
These hoods are designed for emergency escape of hazardous chemicals and are not for continual or repeated use.
